Here's a short piece of music (slowly becoming an album) composed on the Scots Pine Xylophone.

If you study the photo you might be able to make one for yourself
with a piece of discarded wood like the one I discovered.

Recorded using a bizzy bee contact microphone.

To make a beater to play it with use a rubber from the end of a pencil
and stick it onto the end of two lollipop sticks taped together using
super glue.

For this recording I performed it using an old Glokenspiel beater.

You can even play it with your fingers like a piano for faster phrases.

A worth while build which only takes a few hours to make if you work
hard.

Top Tip:

Fine Tune the slats to your desired scale by sawing off 5 mm segments at a time. Remember to get under the slats with some sand paper to smooth the wood to prevent a buzzing sound from any frayed bits of wood.
